Attempted extortion
On 30 September in the city of Yazd, a person phoned a Baha’i acquaintance and demanded that the Baha’i deposit a million tumans (US$100,000) in the person’s bank account. The person said he would report the Baha’i to the government if the money was not deposited, stressing that the government welcomed complaints against Baha’is.
