Distressing news from Ghaemshahr continued

The Baha'i cemetery in Darzikola, a village close to Ghaemshahr, in the province of Mazandaran, was attacked during night with bulldozers diminishing the graveyard of our loved ones. This is the second time that the government officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran destroying this Baha’i cemetery.

Five more arrested in the province of Mazandaran

The government officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran raided the homes of some Baha'is in Ghaemshahr, Mazandaran on Sunday 18 January 2009 midday. They have arrested Ms Taraneh Sanai, Ms Shahnaz Seaadati, Ms Emilia Fanaian, Ms Anisa Fanaian and Ms Farzaneh Ahmadzadegan. They have been taken to an unknown place.

The government officials have not yet made any statements regarding these arrests or the charges against these individuals.

In recent months the Islamic Republic Government of Iran has intensified the persecution of the Baha'is in Ghaemshahr and this is the second time that Baha’is are arrested in Ghaemshahr during last few months.
